Murder-case brother, 20, to face court

A 20-year-old man charged with the murder of his younger brother is due to appear before Bradford Crown Court today.

Daniel Taylor was remanded in custody on Saturday by magistrates at Bradford, charged with the murder of nine-year-old Jack Taylor.

The schoolboy was stabbed to death at a house in Bradford on Thursday night.

Taylor, of Richardson Avenue, Bradford, spoke only to confirm his personal details.

Dressed in a grey tracksuit top and dark tracksuit bottoms, he glanced around the courtroom during the brief hearing and spoke with his solicitor.

He is also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after his 18-year-old sister, Rachel, was injured in the attack in the Wibsey area of Bradford.

She was taken to hospital but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Her brother Jack was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary but died as a result of stab wounds. Police were called at 7.46pm on Thursday to a house in Rookes Avenue, Bradford.
