A MURDER investigation was underway last night after a man’s body was discovered in flats in Wakefield.
Detectives say that the victim, who had not been identified last night, had suffered stab wounds.
Police launched a murder investigation after the man’s body was discovered in flats on Marsland Avenue in Eastmoor, Wakefield.
Yesterday the scene was cordoned off as detectives tried to piece together what had happened.
Officers were alerted just after 7am today yesterday and found the man with stab wounds.
He was taken to Pinderfields Hospital, in Wakefield, but died a short time later.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said last night: “The flats and surrounding area have been cordoned off by police officers to ensure the preservation of evidence at the scene.
“The identity of the deceased man is unknown at present, although he is believed to be in his 20’s,” the police spokesman added.
Police said a 33-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman had both been arrested on suspicion of murder. They were in police custody yesterday.
