Murder probe after man stabbed in Sheffield

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man died of stab wounds in Sheffield.

This morning police were called to reports that a man had been found with stab wounds at an address in Errington Crescent, Sheffield, at 8.45am. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics but died of his injuries a short time later.

Two people, a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and both remain in custody.

Det Chief Insp Craig Jackson, of South Yorkshire Police, who is leading the investigation, said: “I understand the local community will be understandably shocked and upset by the events this morning.

“While the investigation is at an early stage, I would like to reassure residents that I do not believe there is any wider danger to members of the public.”
