Murder suspect held for longer

Detectives have been granted more time to question a man over the murder of a strangled nurse found in a crashed car at a nature reserve in Scarisbrick, Lancashire, last Thursday.

The body of Kate Mott, 35, from Southport, Merseyside, was in the driver’s seat of a blue Ford Focus.

A 31-year-old man, understood to be her husband, Brent Mott, also a nurse, was arrested on suspicion of her murder.
