Murdered Joanna, a picture of happiness

New photos of murdered Joanna Yeates have been released, showing her enjoying life with loved ones.

The landscape architect is pictured with her boyfriend, Greg Reardon, 27, her brother, Chris, 28, and close friends.

Smiling broadly, the 25-year-old looks happily into the camera lens in one image.

In another she is cuddling up to Mr Reardon, an architect working at the same Bristol-based company, BDP, as Miss Yeates.

Other pictures show her jumping through waves at the beach, playing Frisbee with friends and at a music festival.

Miss Yeates disappeared on Friday December 17 after going for Christmas drinks with colleagues.

Mr Reardon reported her missing after he returned to Bristol on December 19 following a weekend away visiting family in Sheffield.

Her frozen body was found on a verge in Somerset on Christmas Day.

The pictures have been released through the BBC Crimewatch website. The reconstruction was due to be shown last Wednesday, but was cancelled after the arrest of Miss Yeates's next-door neighbour Vincent Tabak, 32.

The Dutch engineer, who works in Bath, was charged with her murder on January 22.

During a court appearance yesterday, it emerged that Miss Yeates's family can plan her funeral after her body was released.

A post-mortem examination was carried out last week on behalf of Tabak by a pathologist, Bristol Crown Court was told.

Michael Fitton QC, representing Tabak, told the preliminary hearing that Dr Nat Carey conducted the examination last Wednesday.

Tabak, 32, who appeared at Bristol Crown Court on a video link from HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire, spoke only briefly during the 15-minute hearing.

A provisional trial date has been fixed for October 4 and a plea and case management hearing is now scheduled to take place on Wednesday May 4.
