Museum revs up for road safety exhibition
The display, which opens on Saturday, tells the story of road safety campaigns through the ages, and features TV adverts and vintage posters from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
Robin Diaper, curator of maritime and social history for Hull Museums, displays one of the old posters alongside a new Honda Fireblade motorcycle, on loan from Miles Kingsport Hull, which is also on show to promote BikeSafe, a police-led initiative which aims to encourage safe riding for bikers. The exhibition in the city’s Museums’ Quarter in High Street is free to enter and will run until the end of the year.
