The circumstances that led to the death of a man whose body was found in a garden pond on Boxing Day have been described by a detective as “a bit of a mystery”.
The body of Paul Humphries, 41, was discovered on Thursday at the front of a property in Chaucer Crescent, Kidderminster.
Police said they are keen to hear from anyone who saw Mr Humphries between about 1.30am and 9am on Boxing Day. He was last seen at his home in Tennyson Way, a few minutes’ walk from where he was found, shortly before 1.30am. Mr Humphries, who was single and lived alone, had been taken unwell during the evening on Christmas Day.
A police spokesman said: “Mr Humphries was found dead in tragic circumstances but his final hours are a bit of a mystery.”
He added: “We need to understand the full sequence of events and clearly if anyone has any information at all that can help our enquiries then I would urge them to call us at North Worcestershire CID as soon as possible.”
