Naked chef marks TV show's win at awards

TV chef Gino D'Acampo has become the naked chef after cooking for viewers in the raw.

This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield did not know where to look as the kitchen guru whipped off his pinny and a succession of "willy warmers" to prepare the food nude.

D'Acampo was honouring a pledge to cook in the buff if the ITV1 show landed a prize at the National Television Awards on Wednesday night.

Schofield pointed out that the studio had "never been fuller" as programme staff crammed in to watch the stunt.

D'Acampo – known for his catchphrase "fantastico" – twitched his buttocks for the cameras as he began his session.

But he removed his pinny after Schofield teased him by pointing out that he was not "technically" naked.

Then he pulled off the woolly covering he was wearing, much to grimacing Willoughby's horror as she concentrated on looking at the kitchen worktop.

"Wash your hands now," Schofield ordered him.

Programme bosses made sure the working surface was raised to prevent any unfortunate flashes.

After a few minutes of cooking his gammon and pea dish, he declared "this thing really hurts" before removing a second warmer and placing it on the worktop.

A horrified Schofield flicked it on the floor with a spatula.

The chef had to ask Schofield to pop to the oven for him, to avoid baring all to viewers.

"I think I might have lost my appetite," Willoughby said as he dished up.

And Schofield added: "I still think we should have barbecued."
