Naked man seen on Harrogate Stray

A woman was walking across the piece of open land towards Leeds Road when she noticed a man walking towards her from the direction of Tewit Well Bridge at around 8.20pm on Sunday.

As he drew closer, the woman realised he was completely naked and performing a lewd act. She ran away and raised the alarm.

The suspect is described as being aged around 45-55, 6ft 2ins and he had a beer belly.

Detectve Constable Fiona Ayre said: “This was a very disturbing incident. Although no contact was made with the victim, it has left her very shaken up.

“Members of the public should be allowed to walk through the town without being confronted by such shocking behaviour.”

A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said it was too early to say if the incident was linked to any others. Call police with any information on 101.
