Names wanted for new police pups

WEST Yorkshire Police’s in-house puppy breeding programme has produced its 22nd successful litter.

The five pups, seen with kennel hand, Vanessa Portman, are eight weeks old and are finding their feet at the force’s operations support services at Carrgate, Wakefield. Over the coming months they will be housed with carer families where it is hoped that they will start to show some of the signs of a police dog in the making.

Three of the pups are called Victor, Vince and Vitto. Sergeant Rick Green said: “We have two female pups that are still to be named and we would like to offer the chance to the public to make that decision.”
