Nearly million want60pc rate credit card
Nearly one million people applied for a credit card which charges interest of up to 60 per cent a year during 2009.
Provident Financial received nearly 2,700 applications per day for its Vanquis Bank credit card last year. But 83 per cent of people who applied for the card were turned down, mainly because they were thought to have already taken on too much debt.
