New computer keeps rural buses on track

A RURAL commmunity minibus group has a new computer following a council grant.

Hambleton Council stepped forward to help Thirsk and District Community Minibuses replace its 11-year-old system.

Council leader Mark Robson, who is also one of the Trustees, said: “The new system will make it easier for us to manage accounts and identify and check routes.

“We are used by a number of sports clubs for transport to matches and also a range of social clubs, especially disabled and older people for outings and shopping – carrying on average 4,000 people per year across Hambleton and North Yorkshire.

“As we are a registered charity we don’t often have spare funds for items like this, so to get a grant is a real boost for us.”
