New head for World Trade Centre

A NEW manager has been appointed at the World Trade Centre Hull & Humber.

The centre, which is one of more than 350 globally, is now run by a private sector consortium and has been operating from new waterfront offices on Queen Street in Hull since January.

Ian Archibald will deal with inquiries made through the World Trade Centres Association network of 800,000 businesses, as well as regional companies looking for assistance with their international trading activities.

Mr Archibald has worked in business development and marketing roles since the beginning of his career in 1990, including with Hull Council and latterly Hull Forward.

He said: “This is a challenging and exciting new role. Our activity over the next few months will help secure opportunities and achieve resilience for the region’s businesses.”

World Trade Centre Hull & Humber is funded through partners Andrew Jackson, Language is Everything, Garthwest Creative, HSBC, Mapa, Henderson Insurance Brokers and Neill & Brown Global Logistics. It also has backing from Hull Council, UK Trade & Investment, the Renewables Network, and Team Humber Marine Alliance.
