New hotel sets up business links with Media Museum

A NEW hotel opening in Bradford later this month has announced it will become one of the National Media Museum's premier business partners.

Jurys Inn Bradford says it will sponsor the National Media Museum as part of its community partnership programme.

This will focus on attracting tourism to the city and developing partnerships with local businesses and charities to support Bradford.

The seven floors of the National Media Museum in Bradford – the world's first Unesco "City of Film" – include interactive galleries featuring displays about photography, television and animation, three cinemas including an IMAX screen, and two temporary exhibition galleries.

Although Jurys Inn Bradford is not due to open until the end of next week, general manager, Roger Clark-Coates is already concentrating on building long-term partnerships with the local community to help encourage more visitors to Bradford and boost the local economy.

Mr Clark-Coates said: "All of us at the hotel consider ourselves to be ambassadors for Bradford, many of our employees have lived in the area for years and feel a great sense of pride for the city.

''The National Media Museum is one of the city's greatest assets and we look forward to working with the team to attract more visitors to Bradford who love film."

The sponsorship will see a presence for Jurys Inn Bradford on the National Media Museum's Media Wall, website and in festival brochures, as well as other materials.

Jurys Inn will provide rooms for use by guests and VIPs attending the Bradford Animation Festival and Bradford International Film Festival as well as other events.

Rob Shaw, head of development at the National Media Museum said: "We're delighted to be working with Jurys Inn Bradford.''
