New ‘Terry race slur’ tip

New video evidence of John Terry’s alleged racial slur towards Anton Ferdinand has been handed to prosecutors, it has been reported.

The Sun claims the video, featuring previously unseen footage from TV cameras, was given to police who have passed it on to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The CPS had asked police for more information regarding the incident but would not confirm what it requested. Prosecutors are considering if there is enough evidence to bring charges against the footballer.

The Chelsea and England star denied making the alleged comments to the Queens Park Rangers defender during a Barclays Premier League match at Loftus Road on October 23. In a statement, Terry said: “I would never say such a thing.”
