A nightmare commute home as snow sweeps the region

In West Yorkshire the M606 entry slip road is closed northbound, while police clear an overturned vehicle and oil spillage at Chain Bar.

Snow has hit the M62, which is congested both ways between the A644 junction 25 and the A650 junction 28. The M621 is also congested.

Many buses are avoiding side roads, especially in the Kirklees and Calderdale areas. But most trains are running normally.

The good news is that the snow is expected to clear later tonight, leaving a heavy frost for morning.
