A YORKSHIRE financial brokers has unveiled a £5m expansion plan which aims to create 300 jobs over the next 12 months.

Norton Finance, based in Rotherham, offers a range of financial services including loans, mortgages and insurance.

The business has invested 5m in a customer care centre, which will open later this month close to its headquarters in Rotherham, which will create new jobs.

The site for the centre, established in 1974, is the former Portland House.

Keith Stringer, the company's managing director and founder, said: "The financial services sector is a highly competitive one, and a growing business sector which is why we wanted to expand this year to demonstrate what we can offer to potential staff in South Yorkshire and customers alike."
