Now four arrested over Mirfield stab murder

Joshua Hirst, 20, died in hospital shortly after being fatally stabbed in Mirfield on the night of Friday, August 3.

Two men and a woman are being questioned over his death.

Yesterday afternoon a spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Late last night, Saturday August 4, police arrested three people in connection with the murder.

“Two men aged 21 and 18 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

“A 22-year old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three are currently in custody being interviewed by detectives.”

Today a 20-year old man was been arrested and is being questioned by detectives.

Police and paramedics were called to Hepworth Lane in Mirfield at around 11pm on Friday after Mr Hirst was found with stab wounds to his body.

He was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.

A post-mortem examination on Saturday found that he died from the stab wounds he sustained.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries into the murder are ongoing and detectives are still appealing for anyone with information to contact the homicide and major enquiry team via 101.”
