Adrian McDonald

ADRIAN McDonald, 41, who has died of cancer which was diagnosed early last year, specialised in complex commercial litigation and insolvency work.

Distinguished by an unusual combination of professional expertise and a lively personality, he was a partner at Last Cawthra Feather (LCF) of Leeds, Bradford and Shipley where colleagues knew him as Tigger on account of his energy, love of life and indomitable sense of fun.

It has been said of him that he didn’t stay still for a minute.

Growing up in the North West, Adrian went to St Edward’s College Liverpool, the only voluntarily-aided Roman Catholic Cathedral school in the country, where he also sang in the choir as one of the 18 cathedral senior choristers.

He then went on to study at Essex University and started his legal career at Brook North and Goodwin of Leeds (now Brook North) in 1994, qualifying as solicitor two years later.

Joining LCF in 2005, in addition to his own specialism, Adrian took responsibility for the firm’s trainees, the majority of whom have remained with the firm upon qualification, having created roles for themselves under Adrian’s tutelage.

Following his diagnosis with cancer, and throughout his treatment at St James Hospital, Leeds, Adrian maintained a positive outlook, always taking an interest in the concerns and welfare of friends and colleagues above his own.
