Ofsted teaching inspectors say training scheme top of class

A TEACHER training scheme in Yorkshire has been hailed as outstanding by education watchdog Ofsted.

The Wakefield Partnership for Initial Teacher Training was named in a list of the top performers .

Her Majesty's chief inspector of education, children's services and skills Christine Gilbert, said all those who had been rated as outstanding had shown "an excellent quality of care, support and education" to meet the needs of both children and those students

She added: "I wholeheartedly congratulate the Wakefield Partnership for Initial Teacher Training on their success and their hard work in delivering such high standards.

"Excellence does not happen by chance, outstanding providers have a real drive to inspire, challenge and support children, young people and adult learners."

The Wakefield Partnership for Initial Teacher Training was the only scheme in Yorkshire to be rated as outstanding and one of only 12 in the country to feature in Ofsted's list of top performers.
