All Creatures Great and Small has won place in nation’s hearts as second series confirmed: The Yorkshire Post says

There can be few programmes to arrive on television under such a weight of expectation than Channel 5’s reimagining of All Creatures Great and Small as it followed in the footsteps of the much-loved BBC original.

But to the delight of all involved, the show did not just meet but succeeded the anticipation surrounding it as the series won both critical and popular acclaim, becoming Channel 5’s highest-rated drama with almost six million viewers a week.

As such, it is no surprise that the programme, based on James Herriot’s cherished stories of life as a vet in the Yorkshire Dales, has been commissioned for a second series with six new episodes and a Christmas special scheduled to arrive in 2021.
