All Creatures Great and Small’s tourism hope – The Yorkshire Post says

IN a year when Channel 5’s adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small has provided so much pleasure to so many people, it’s very fitting that the future of the World of James Herriot visitor attraction is now assured after Hambleton councillors signed off a new peppercorn rent for the landmark Thirsk museum.

After all, the success of All Creatures – and the upcoming Christmas special is already eagerly-awaited – showcasing rural Yorkshire is giving a new generation of people even more reason to come to this county, and to enjoy all the charm of Herriot country for themselves, once the lockdown is finally lifted.

This also provides some grounds for optimism at the end of a desperately difficult year for the tourism and hospitality sectors.

In the meantime, the finances of attractions, hotels and countless B&B establishments can be eased by people opting now to pay for advance bookings to show their support for an industry which is priceless to Yorkshire’s economy.
