Ashley Jackson’s legacy as artist turns 80 – The Yorkshire Post says

HE may be an adopted Yorkshireman, having been born in Malaysia, but Ashley Jackson embodies many of the qualities that we associate with our county.

Through hard work, determination and no small amount of talent, he has established himself as one of the most successful watercolour artists of his generation.

From humble beginnings as a signwriter in Barnsley he went on to open his first art gallery in 1963, and over the ensuing decades his art has brought joy to countless people through his many exhibitions, books and his popular TV series A Brush with Ashley.
