Channel 5 and All Creatures Great and Small putting Yorkshire in the spotlight: The Yorkshire Post says

In recent years Channel 5 has become something of an unexpected champion for Yorkshire, making many successful shows in the county – particularly around farming communities – that have highlighted to the nation what the region has to offer.

The move from factual documentaries to drama last year proved a triumph as a reimagined version of All Creatures Great and Small won a new generation of admirers while also managing to impress fans of the original books and BBC series. As commissioning editor Daniel Pearl explains, shows like All Creatures and Our Yorkshire Farm have offered viewers “comfort, joy and happiness” at a time when the news has been largely bleak.

Now Yorkshire will soon to get an international boost from the channel’s decision to focus on Yorkshire, with All Creatures being shown on American television from next week. In tough times, it is great to know Yorkshire stories are helping to bring a smile to people around the world.
