Jane's legacy

SHE needs no introduction. Three years after she passed away, the name Jane Tomlinson still resonates with wellwishers around the world. It rekindles memories about her indefatigable courage, after being diagnosed with cancer, and how this gave her the strength to become a Yorkshire icon through her many charity endeavours.

Jane was also extremely proud of her family, and how they sacrificed so much time with her so she could fulfil her numerous fundraising marathons before she succumbed to her illness. Yet, even she would be amazed at the extent to which they have embraced her spirit – and how the Tomlinson name has become such an inspirational force for good.

It is exemplified by Jane's daughter Rebecca. Not only has she inherited her mother's striking features, but she, too, is determined to change lives for the better with her backing for events like the Jane Tomlinson Leeds 10K Run for All.

Now one of many such runs, we wish Rebecca, and her family, every success with their endeavours to honour Jane's legacy. One thing is certain; she would wholeheartedly applaud their efforts.
