This Malton headteacher is best of the best – The Yorkshire Post says

MALTON School – whose motto is ‘support, inspire, thrive’ – is not alone in being immensely proud of Rob Williams who has been named as a headteacher of the year at the Oscars of the teaching profession.

So, too, is the whole of Yorkshire that this inspirational individual has received national recognition.

By all accounts, he’s changed the entire ethos of Malton School by rooting out problems with discipline and then becoming actively involved in so many of the school’s activities so he can get to learn his students, and their families, better.

And his passion for technology meant that the transition to ‘home schooling’ was a smooth one when the country first went into lockdown back in March. But a ‘heads up’ on two wider points. First this individual award is the culmination of a team effort, a point Mr Williams made, and, second, Malton’s transformation shows what is possible when heads are entrusted by policy-makers to get on with the job.
