Rogue parking operators lose this licence to print money – The Yorkshire Post says

TODAY’S Bank Holiday coincides with a victory for common sense – a belated desire by the Government to take action against ‘rogue’ parking operators whose exploitative practices have caused so much misery and heartache.

This is not a new phenomenon – Haworth, the home of the Brontës, has, in recent years, become more synonymous with parking controversies than one of the great literary families and the reason why so many people visit the alluring Worth Valley.

There are countless other examples of unwitting motorists being left out of pocket as a result of ambiguous signs and an appeals process that lacks transparency.

Yet, while it is regrettable that the selfishness of a small minority of motorists makes these parking rules and regulations necessary in the first place, it does not excuse the malpractice of those operators who have viewed current legal loopholes as a licence to print money. The sooner they’re closed, the better.
