Rotary Clubs and their gift to the world – The Yorkshire Post says

THE pre-occupation with Covid-19 must not mask global attempts to eradicate polio 40 years after Rotary International began its work to combat this infectious disease which left many victims under the age of five facing death. There were few survivors.

Today the world is on the brink of becoming polio- free – it now exists only in Pakistan and Afghanistan – and much of this success can be credited to Rotary Clubs in Yorkshire and money raised to fund immunisation programmes.

Unsung heroes of local communities, they’re personified by the selfless commitment of inspiring individuals like retired Bradford pharmacist Manoj Joshi, who has given his life, and soul, to fighting this disease and raising awareness about the importance of clean drinking water. A humble man, he simply wants to thank all those who have helped him.
