A shining light; Prince William’s example on environment – The Yorkshire Post says

THE Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are shining lights for this country, the latest example being their advocacy for environmental issues and those charming exchanges between their three young children and Sir David Attenborough.

Yet Prince William’s thoughtful participation in a ITV documentary about climate change demonstrates a level of awareness previously shown by both the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince of Wales who, in many respects, were both ahead of time with their own views.

But this insight into William’s work offers a glimpse of the future and how increased awareness of climate issues from environmental activism to local litter picks, and society’s duty to bequeath a cleaner and greener planet to future generations, could be a positive legacy of Covid. The tragedy is that it took a pandemic, and curtailment of liberty in lockdowns, for many to appreciate the value and importance of the natural world.
