TODAY deserves to be a day of accomplishment for all those Yorkshire students receiving their GCSE results.

Their hard work – and the commitment shown by their teachers – will, hopefully, be the springboard to a successful career. Yet, on this stressful day, spare a thought for the parents – and their agonies – as they wait, with much trepidation, to hear if their children have made the grade.
