The Yorkshire Post says: Man of the people. Minster tribute to Barry Dodd

IT'S a measure of the high esteem in which Barry Dodd, the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire, was held that so many people attended his thanksgiving service in York Minster.

A much respected man of many roles, and talents, he was, first and foremost, a proud Yorkshireman whose life’s work created a lasting legacy for the whole county.

A tribute in keeping
with a man who gave so much to so many, the occasion also brought great comfort to his family after Mr Dodd’s widow Frances summed up her late husband as “a truly, inspirational person who cared about everyone he met”.

Rarely has such a plaudit been so merited.
