The Yorkshire Post says: A Royal romance. Harry and Meghan's special day

THE medieval town of Windsor will witness a very modern Royal wedding when Prince Harry marries his fiancée Meghan Markle.

A ceremony that promises to be rich in pageantry and personal poignancy, Ms Markle will be walked down the aisle by the Prince of Wales due to the absence of her father.

Yet, while this is a break with custom, the gesture also reflects how the Royal family – and the rest of the country – have taken the American actress to their hearts to such an extent that her own background became, frankly, immaterial as this romance blossomed.

As the happy couple have demonstrated with their public appearances to date, they, together with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three young children, come to symbolise a Royal family which has never been more in touch with contemporary society, and younger generations in particular. On behalf of the people of Yorkshire, we wish them every future happiness on a very special day for them – and us.
