ON a day of celebration when Arsene Wenger takes his leave of Arsenal after 22 years at the helm, the Frenchman's farewell at Huddersfield Town should not detract from the achievement of the Yorkshire club in retaining its Premier League status.

together the ultimate team – under the shrewd manager David Wagner – which was able to defy all those naysayers who were tipping the club for relegation from the moment they won promotion to the ‘Promised Land’ a year ago.
