THE Labour Party is in a terrible mess. Mainly due to their own efforts during 2015. But you can’t blame them, as your paper suggests, for the shambolic response to the Yorkshire floods by this Tory Government who do have a majority (The Yorkshire Post, January 11) and who won’t to listen to anyone or take any notice of previous reports for better flood defences in Yorkshire.

Having watched Prime Minister’s Questions and Mr Cameron’s puerile response to the questions on the Leeds flood defence scheme (Letters, The Yorkshire Post, January 12), it would be better if he returned to the school playground where he belongs. A person with a more responsible nature who can realise the gravity of the situation is required, urgently.

We, the public, must complain about the lack of flood defences in Yorkshire and keep doing so until the situation is rectified. On their next visit to Yorkshire, Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne better beware a soaking from the Northern Powerhose!

I BET the Royal Engineers could build a bridge across a river in Iraq or Afghanistan. Why not Tadcaster?
