YP Letters: Tiger bus to Leeds Bradford Airport hasn't earned its stripes

PLEASE can I add my poor experience of using the Yorkshire Tiger bus between Harrogate and Leeds Bradford Airport (The Yorkshire Post, September 6) to the current debate.

To be fair, timekeeping has improved overall, but reliability has not. There have been several occasions where buses have been cancelled and no vehicle was available as a stand-by.

This is completely unacceptable in my view. Most of the buses on the route are some 12 years or so old. A bit past their sell-by date, I suggest.

The contract for the airport bus service is due for renewal. If the existing operator is selected again, let’s hope they smarten up their act to match their brand name of Flying Tiger!

ANOTHER complaint about Dick Turpin, AKA Leeds Bradford Airport car park rip-off merchants.

Dropped my son off the other morning at the drop-off zone. Was only there 20 seconds and had to pay £3 to exit.

If this isn’t a con, I don’t know what is. I have noted from other readers of The Yorkshire Post that I am not alone in being subjected to this “scam”.
