YP Letters: What about the trebling of world population?

From: Andrew Suter, Station Road, Ampleforth.
Is the Government still in favour of wind power or not?Is the Government still in favour of wind power or not?
Is the Government still in favour of wind power or not?

THE mutual back slapping at the conclusion of Paris climate change jamboree was nauseous in the extreme. We are told by the believers that climate change is down to human activity. I will accept that. No mention in the agreement about the breeding habits of human beings which must have a bearing. UN figures indicate the world’s population has trebled in 60 years and shows no sign of slowing down. Based on this figure and no acknowledgement of it, can I suggest we are all on a one way trip to oblivion if, of course, the climate change supporters are correct with their opinions?

From: Arthur Quarmy, Underhill, Holme.

I AM delighted to see Bernard Ingham (The Yorkshire Post, December 16) throw his weight against what he rightly describes as “all this climate change nonsense”.

The biggest and most costly confidence trick in history.

From: Kate Murphy, West Witton.

CAN anyone explain whether the Government is now in favour of wind power or not? I heard Energy Secretary Amber Rudd in Parliament and she did not seem to know. I can’t understand why more has not been done to harness tidal power.
