YOUR recent item on Palestinian attacks on Israeli forces gave the impression that the attacks were apparently without motive.

Would it be possible, do you think, for your reporters to try to give such events some context?

For example, the soldiers being attacked are responsible, on a daily basis, for the unduly oppressive “control” of the indigenous people, such as hindering normal movement around the streets, or ambulances on their way to emergencies as well as administering irrational regulations which separate farmers from their land.

The list is endless, but I
think that you will agree
that the inclusion of such information is essential to explain the fact that the frustration generated by
such dictatorial behaviour
on the part of Israeli authorities must inevitably lead to violent reactions – usually leading
to the deaths of the victims
of the oppression.

Even Israel’s generals are
beginning to wonder
about the wisdom of
emptying a full magazine
into a teenage girl wielding a
pair of scissors.
