April 8: Criminal way to treat television’s DCI Banks

From: David Parker, Bradford.

AS an avid reader of Peter Robinson’s excellent novels, I was looking forward to the television adaptation (Tom Richmond, The Yorkshire Post, April 4) with a Dales setting. I have no objection to Stephen Tomlinson, as Inspector Alan Banks, but to have him operating from central Leeds is definitely flawed. In the novels he did make visits to the cities of Yorkshire and sometimes further afield, but he is a Dales “copper”.

DELIGHTFUL. What a lovely change to have a front page photograph to make you smile (The Yorkshire Post, April 4). The little tot guarding her ice cream from the reach of a hungry horse was a treat to behold.
