Bankers must play no part in 
cash creation

On November 20, something amazing is going to happen. Parliament will debate money creation and society.

Oh yawn, you all think?

Well, I’ve studied this area for a number of years.

Money creation is critical for us to understand how our country is performing.

It influences everyone, rich or poor.

Parliament has only once before debated this issue, over 170 years ago.

Banks create money. This is an investment into the economy through the creation of loans, usually for housing.

As banks care nothing for anything other than profit, they will continue to loan to the point where the economy busts, having caused inflation, they then cause unemployment.

The solution is to take away the privilege of money creation from banks and allowing an independent body to create it. Perhaps the Bank of England.

As we taxpayers are being crippled with loans that pay interest of £50bn a year, this would be useful.

I urge everyone to contact their MP and demand they attend this critical debate.

The time is long overdue, for us, the people of Britain, to make our currency work for our needs and not selfish, overpaid 
bankers.

Posh Cameron deludes himself

I am afraid David Cameron is deluding himself when he says that the North no longer think of him as too “posh” (The Yorkshire Post, November 7).

In areas of West and South Yorkshire, the fact that he is posh, and a Conservative, mark him down in the estimation of the ordinary voter.

Many are such dyed in the wool Labour supporters, that they would never ever consider him to be anything other than too posh.

Cruel fate of pigs

I suspect that many people will have been distressed to see the report and photograph of the lorry crash in which transport carrying 200 pigs hit a bread van (The Yorkshire Post, November 7).

A total of 35 pigs died, including some which had to be euthanised because their injuries were so bad.

But how many people would have given a second thought to the intended destination of this lorry and its “passengers”?

If it was not an abattoir on this occasion, the pigs would most certainly make such a journey at some time. Those animals which were cared for so gently by the rescuers will ultimately be killed for their meat.

How many of those who read The Yorkshire Post report, and were saddened by it, did so as they tucked into their bacon and egg breakfast?

Let’s get out of the EU

We currently pay the EU about £11.3bn a year, and the EU wants us to pay them an extra £1.7bn by December 1.

If David Cameron gives them that money, it would make me think the EU will demand billions more from us.

He ought to tell the EU to take a running jump. The EU is commandeering us all the time. We are the EU’s mugs. We would be better off if the UK exited from the EU as soon as possible.

Duncan Smith heals the sick

The race to see which came first between the resurrection and release of the Chilcot report has been won by the resurrection in the form of Iain Duncan Smith.

Whereas Jesus could only muster up the odd miracle – helping a cripple to walk again, curing a blind man and turning water into wine – Iain has cured one million plus disabled people with his disciples Atos and Maximus.

Perhaps they should charter an airliner, travel the world and cure it of disease and disability.

For sure this man is the new self-declared Messiah. There is no other explanation to account for his amazing powers of healing the sick and disabled – or is there?

Ready for new era in politics

It will soon be time for the electorate to make their minds up as to who they want to be our leaders for the next five years.

I never thought it would be a three-horse race. I have to admit I thought that Ukip were going to be a bunch of ‘also rans’ – but they proved me wrong.

I have a feeling that Nigel Farage and his party could achieve a minor miracle and push the Tory Party down to third place in the election.

This could prove to be a new era in British politics.

But come polling day I am hoping common sense will prevail and the nation decides to elect a Labour government back into office. It is time for change!
