A Countdown conundrum

THE Channel 4 game show Countdown reached its 6,000th show on September 5. I thought that a good number of people like to watch Countdown five times a week, but they persist in knocking Countdown off in favour of horse racing. I assume that I am not the only one who isn’t pleased with this?

THE British people are strange in their attitudes. When the Manchester kennels were burnt down there were offers of money and homes for the dogs affected. This country has hundreds of children looking for adoption, or even a foster home, and yet you don’t see many people rushing forward with offers for them.
