Go west for less turbulent time

From: Mike Ridgway, Ghyll Wood, Ilkley.

FURTHER to the letter from
Bob Crowther (Yorkshire Post, June 1), the problems incurred at Leeds Bradford International Airport are not untypical – the best way to avoid them is to journey to Manchester.

Not only is that an international airport that lives up to its name, but it provides better access from many parts of the Leeds and Bradford area, has a more “customer friendly” approach to its users, better car parking, drop-off facilities at no cost and escalators that work.

WE hear about the rise of people using a food bank, which is not good. This is the drawback of unemployment and benefit changes.

We can all help by donating surplus food to the food bank either directly or though a community group. This will help others not so fortunate as many of us. Just the odd tin or packet will help and can be given anytime.

Policy that’s shot

From: Terry Duncan, Greame Road, Bridlington.

THE time has come for our
Prime Minister, David Cameron, to cease warmongering with
our frugal taxpayers’ money
and instead use the likes of Foreign Secretary William
Hague to encourage
relationships with all foreign countries to integrate with
the UK – instead of threatening actions against countries
which are none of our
business.

Let the Russians, the USA and China play at war games.
