Is it county 
or country?

With reference to Tom Richmond’s column (The Yorkshire Post, November 8) and the debate as to whether it should be God’s own county or God’s own country, Yorkshire is a county and Scotland is a country.

Had I been the man recently ordered to take off his medals in court, I would have been jailed for contempt of court. I hold those magistrates in utter contempt.
