It’s time to stop tugging your forelock, Harry

I AM getting a little fed up with Look North presenters and Harry Gration in particular, mispronouncing Harewood. If the Lascelles family wish to call themselves Harwood that is their prerogative – it’s just pompous nonsense on their part but they have that right. The village of Harewood existed long before the Lascelles family built their country pile, so the name has existed for hundreds of years and it has never ever been Harwood.

So come along Harry Gration, who, as a former teacher should know better, use the name it was given and please don’t feel the need to tug your forelock to m’Lord! He only puts his trousers on one leg at a time like mere mortals.

I CAN’T agree with Barry Foster (The Yorkshire Post, March 15) about Harry Gration. For years Harry has promoted the county, sometimes in a biased view, but overall with high esteem.

ONE of the best male presenters on Look North is Ian White who seems to be sidelined all the time, he is always very professional and a joy to watch.
