July 15: Don’t blame Clare Balding, blame the producers

From: Brian Sheridan, Redmires Road, Sheffield.

THE drawn-out vilification of Clare Balding following the unwise road her career has taken are unfair (Tom Richmond, The Yorkshire Post, July 6).

Unlike those who gave her glowing reviews, I thought her coverage of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games was average, but which of us would have turned down the amount
of work thrown at her since then?

She is human and prone to hubris like the rest of us.

Don’t blame her, instead blame her producers for
turning out such rubbish as Wimbledon 2Day.

From: Hugh Rogers, Messingham Road, Ashby.

WHAT with the seemingly omnipresent Clare Balding kicked off the box (albeit temporarily) and Andy Murray and his mother on the slow
train back to Dunblane, can things, I ask myself, really get any better?

ROGER Federer makes a dignified speech after losing the Wimbledon Championship.

Lewis Hamilton expects to be allowed into the Royal Box without socks or a tie – more suitably dressed for Brighton, oops sorry Monaco.
