Just add stars and a des res

From: Tim Mickleburgh, Boulevard Avenue, Grimsby.

I’ve got a great new idea for a daytime TV programme. It would involve a group of celebrities trying to create a historic recipe while living in a house in the country that a buyer is trying to make a profit on.

The cakes would then be auctioned off, with the winner being whoever had the highest gap between the price received and the cost of ingredients.

Whatever, I’m glad I’m not stuck at home relying on the TV for my entertainment.

Another BBC boss blunders

From: R Williams, Harrogate.

What is it with those who are appointed to run the BBC’s Newsnight programme?

After the mistakes made by his predecessor Peter Rippon over the reporting (or lack of it) of the Jimmy Savile scandal, the new boss sends out a tweet to 26,000 people complaining that one of his guests, Leeds MP Rachel Reeves, was “boring”.

Where on earth does the BBC get these people from? More to the point, how much will they give them to persuade them to leave?

WITH regard to “Moor to offer – Yorkshire pips cities like Paris
and Rome to take top tourism title” (Yorkshire Post, September 3). Yes, the City of Bradford Metropolitan District is two-thirds rural and we are very lucky to live here, because in my book a bit of Yorkshire moorland is as good as anything.

No-fly zone

In reply to Trevor Anson’s request for advice on a fly spray that actually works, (Yorkshire Post, September 4) I can recommend Raid Fly and
Wasp Killer spray manufactured by SC Johnson Ltd. It is very effective.
