Just how low can a wage be?

From: Linda McAvan MEP (Labour), High Street, Wath-upon-Dearne

RE Godfrey Bloom “Why not make the minimum wage £100 an hour?”

So the Yorkshire and the Humber MEP is against increasing the minimum wage. I guess we should not be surprised as he is already on the record saying that if he wants to pay someone below the minimum wage then that should be his choice and nothing to do with politicians.

So just how little do you want to pay someone for an honest day’s work, Godfrey?

Sad to see stadium go

From: Iain Morris, Caroline Street, Saltaire, Bradford.

HOW very sad indeed to see the Don Valley Stadium being broken up. Built for the World Student Games and the host of many televised events since, did this turn out to be a prestigious exploit too far for the City of Sheffield?

The stadium built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester is now home to Manchester City Football Club, with a capacity of 48,000.

Why are citizens of the
UK compelled by law to
purchase a TV licence, when people in the Republic of
Ireland, the Netherlands, parts of France, Spain, and Portugal are not – even though they receive BBC television and
radio broadcasts? It seems unfair to me, but what does anyone else think?
