Kind act that shows there are good people left

From: Lindsay Phillips, Bramley, Leeds.

I AM writing to let you know how my faith in people has been restored. My family and myself attended Party in the Park at the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

We only discovered at the end of the day that my 15-year-old daughter had lost her purse, with her money which she’d saved herself for the event. She was very disappointed at losing the money but even more so the fact that her grandmother had bought her the purse and she also had personal things in it.

I was awoken the other morning by a man at my door that I’d never seen before.

He asked me if the Phillips’ lived here, which I found a little strange, then said I’ve found a purse. The man who’s name I didn’t get, had found my daughter’s purse at Colton Retail Park.

He had found our address on my daughter’s bus pass and not only did he go out of his way to return the purse, all her belongings were still in the purse along with her money.

I tried to give the man a reward for returning the purse, which he refused point blank.

So I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you very much to him.

My daughter is over the moon, and thank you for showing me that there really are good people in this world that probably do not get mentioned as much as they should do.
