Labour’s own border scandal

THE accusations being directed at the present government over the UK Border Agency are nothing short of scandalous.

For years the Blair government was actively encouraging a flood of immigration and failing to stem the tide of illegal immigrants.

Rather than having an inquiry into the recent behaviour of the Border Agency, the Government and police should be investigating the behaviour of New Labour and what must be the worst case of treason since the war.

Scrap plan to lift speed limit

FOG, smog or smoke may have been the contributory cause of this dreadful M5 carnage, but surely the outstanding problems are excessive and irresponsible speed, together with a failure to keep a safe braking distance from other vehicles.

Thus the plan to increase the motoring limit to 80 mph must no longer be implemented.

Standing up for the poppy

WELL said, Tom Richmond (Yorkshire Post, November 9). If England’s footballers had a moral compass, they would from the start have insisted on wearing the poppy on their shirts at Wembley rather than bowed to Fifa’s political correctness. How dare Fifa give lessons on morality.

DO any readers know where the drama Where the Heart Is was filmed? This was a really good series with Keith Baron starring. Is there any possibility of this excellent programme being revived?
