Up with the lark rather than down in the dark

From: Janet Berry, Hambleton, Selby.

IS it usual or healthy to feel traumatised after watching two nationally acclaimed films?

I absolutely adore Swan Lake which I must have seen five times, including the male version; such a beautiful ballet and yet it is portrayed in such an ugly way in The Black Swan.

I found this film very dark and unsettling but this was nothing when you compare it to Never Let me Go. Truly ugly and horrible and disturbing, or is it just me?

Both these films have good reviews and The Black Swan, in particular, receiving critical acclaim.

I love going to the cinema but when you watch the trailers they all seem to be cruel and violent. I will probably be taking my two grand-daughters to see Tangled at half-term so let’s hope this has a happy ending!

Perhaps this is why BBC’s Lark Rise to Candleford has such a following – no sex, no violence and no bad language. I shall miss it so much.

I had a little weep I must admit when we heard of an unexpected pregnancy and two marriage proposals.

People often remark that nothing happens but it is a brilliant portrayal of an age long gone.

Sunday evenings will not be the same.
