Locks rise to canal changes

From: Robert Brough, Economic Development Programmes Officer, Bradford Council.

JUST a comment on the archive photograph of the canal in Bingley (Yorkshire Post, February 25).

I think the picture shows the barge entering the first lock of Bingley Three-Rise which is the set before Five-Rise, but more important would be a photograph of how it looks today to show how things have changed since the canal was rerouted to make way for the relief road.

From: Bryan Capstick, Hellifield, North Yorkshire.

WHAT a fine article (Yorkshire Post, February 25) by Father McNicholas on the failure of politicians and others to learn lessons.

It should be on the front page of every newspaper in the land.
